Taiyuan county of The Ming Dynasty covers an area of about 0.8 square kilometers. Four streets converge at the cross center of the city, which is divided into four areas. There are 79 existing cultural relics buildings, and 49 historical buildings listed for protection by Taiyuan Municipal Government. Among them, the Temple is listed as a national key cultural relics protection units. The restoration and protection project of the ancient county began in 2013. The city wall of the ancient county is divided into east, south, west and north sides and is fully closed. The city wall is 3,700 meters long and 11 meters high, with a total construction area of 77,000 square meters. There are four towers, four turrets, 36 watchtowers, one Kuiguang tower and one watchtower in the city wall, and six gateways through the wall (12 holes in total). The building area is 32,153.7 square meters. The shops along the cross Street and the Town God's Temple area include the shops along the East Street, South Street, West Street, North Street and the Town God's Temple area. There are 213 shops mainly on the first floor and partly on the second floor, with a total construction area of 91,097.2 square meters. There are 152 traditional dwellings in Jinshang courtyard. There are three hotel complexes and one film and television complex in the ancient county, among which the hotel is jinxi Garden complex, Wangqiongfu complex, and preparatory warehouse complex. The film and television complex is respectively Zhang Yimou film and television base and The City God temple area theater.
